From Day to Night: What to Wear for Dinner

Posted on 10 December 2019

Going out for dinner is one of the best things in life, right?

Looking for an outfit… not so fun. Sure, we love dressing up but finding the right balance between dressy and casual can often be a little hard!

As a general basis, you can’t go wrong with jeans and a nice top, a simple black jumpsuit or a dressy floral dress.

Here are a few tips and tricks that’ll help you get casual dinner and drinks attire down perfectly.

Little Black Jumpsuit

Just like a little black dress, every woman needs a black jumpsuit hanging up ready to be taken out of the wardrobe when the time is right.

We’re particularly loving this pleated lightweight silky pleated fabric that made an entrance into the Summer season last year, and is definitely sticking around. The Dazzling Pleated Jumpsuit in shimmering black is perfect for evening plans, worn with flat mules or pair of simple heels, you can’t go wrong.

Floral Delight

Another must have that works well for dinner plans is a little floral number like the Anastasia Dress in Navy floral.

Whether you’re going for dinner with the girls, your family or partner, you can’t go wrong a bardot style neckline and a wrap around floral dress.

Ideal for a dressier dinner, team with barely there sandal heels and a nude box clutch.

Luxe Lace

Anything featuring embroidery and lace can take a simple outfit from a 5 to a 10 out of 10 in terms of the glam scale!

If you’re heading out after work, why not throw over a lace embroidered kimono on top of a simple t-shirt and jeans? We love the Wilderstein Lace Kimono available in both black and white, perfect if you want to add a touch of glamour to your daytime attire.

A combination we’re crushing on is the Ivie Embroidered Kimono in a deep Navy. The wide sleeves and rich colour will add an opulent feel to your look, and work well with flat sandals too if you haven’t got it in you to wear heels!

Comfort is Key

Just remember, it’s all about looking good without sacrificing in terms of comfort! Enjoy that extra slice of pizza without worrying about that too-tight dress and relax.

Whether you’re heading out for a fancy dinner or a casual evening at the pub, Lelulah Boutique have got a number of pieces to take you from daytime chic to nighttime play.
